Reichert SPR systems are component based and configured much like a typical High Performance Liquid Chromatograph. A system consists of a precision syringe pump, a manual or automatic injector, the SR7000 or SR7000DC SPR Spectrometer and a computer for data acquisition and analysis.
System Flexibility
The component arrangement provides a high level of flexibility. Examples of this flexibility include:
- Fluidic tubing inner diameters can range from 64 µm to 500 µm providing low total system volumes for sample limited applications or larger flow paths for viscous samples or samples containing particulates (e.g. cell lysates, bacteria)
- Sample loop size can be varied from 10 µL to 2+ mL and flow rates from
< 1 uL/hr. to 10 mL/min enabling very small volume injections or fast flow/long injection-association times.
- Syringe pump syringe size can be varied. Small diameter syringes provide extremely low pump noise for e.g. low molecular weight analyte analysis. Larger syringes can be used for long uninterrupted associations.
- Contaminated or plugged tubing is easily replaced.
- Location of flow cell allows for modifications. E.g. addition of an electrochemical flow cell is offered as an option. Clear flow cells are available for viewing flow cell chamber with a fluorescent microscope. Reichert Inc. sells this as a custom modification.

| Autosampler
The Reichert SR7100 robotic autosampler is designed to maximize the performance and throughput of the SR7000 and SR7000DC Surface Plasmon Resonance instruments. The
SR7100 is easy to operate and easy to maintain. It is specifically designed for life science related surface plasmon resonance applications.
Autosampler Features
- Sample cooling (to 4 Deg. C.)
- Biocompatible PEEK™ Fluidics.
- Small volume injections – to 2.5 µL – when sample quantity is limited
- Large volume injections–to 1 mL- when longer-term equilibrium analysis is required.
- Minimal sample carryover and excellent repeatability ensure high quality, reproducible kinetic data.
- Variable sample loop and syringe sizes for micro to macro injections.
- Compatible with 1.5 mL sample vials, 96 and 384 well plates. A plate feeder can be added as an option to increase throughput.

| SR7300 Semi-Automatic Injection Valve
The Reichert SR7300 is an electronically actuated, computer controlled semi-automatic injection valve. SR7300 communicates with Reichert’s Data Acquisition and Analysis Software via an RS232 connection.

| SR7500 Syringe Pump
A precision syringe pump is essential to optimizing the SR7000 and SR7000DC Performance. Precise and reproducible flow rates = high quality kinetics.
Features:
- Repoducibly flow from 1 nanoliter/min to 3000 microliter/min
- Pulseless flow ensures quiet, stable baselines
- Communicates with the SPR System to refill, re-equilibrate and change flow rates as required for a variety of applications
- Accurate flow over a wide range of backpressures – enables low volume system configurations using very narrow I.D. tubing
- Autofill feature maintains flow for long time periods
- 0.5, 1.0 and 5 mL syringes

| SR7600 Divertor Valve
The SR7600 Divertor Valve is used to select flow over one or both flow cells of the SR7000DC Dual Channel SPR Spectrometer. The Reichert SR7100 Autosampler or the Reichert Endurance Autosampler controls the SR7600 Divertor Valve. The SR7600 enables automated “Capture” Protocols. For Example, poly-His tagged protein is 1st injected over the sample channel. The binding partner is then injected over both sample and reference channels. The surface is then regenerated and the procedure repeated. |

Each SR7000 System comes complete with a fluidics kit that includes:
- Assortment of tubing – 0.005 to 0.030” I.D. PEEK™ Tubing
- Check Valves and Y connector for automatically refilling the syringe pump
- Syringe Luer Lok connector

- Tubing cutter
- Extra Flow cell gaskets (5)
